The Meeting House Farm Shop and Café is housed in a building that was built in 1841. It was originally a church but was officially closed in 1973. It was not maintained for a number of years before being taken over by Broomfield Anaghafarcon Development Group.
The windows and roof were repaired and the premises were extended to incorporate a kitchen, toilets, and office space.
The Eaglais, a community meeting area, heritage center, craft shop, and tourist information center operated out of the premises for 11 years. The Eaglais closed its doors in 2014 and later that year IGWT upgraded the premises and reopened as The Meeting House Farm Shop and Café.
The Challenge
Since opening in 2014 the Meeting House Farm Shop and Cafe extended their range of products. Their continually growing and extensive range is in line with their commitment to continually meet the changing needs of their growing customer base.
The Meeting House, Farm Shop, and Cafe has fresh and frozen produce from local farms prepared by local businesses and other goods from farther afield provided by Irish wholesalers and suppliers.
The nature of long trading hours means that their ePOS System must be able to handle all sales and be accessible both on and off the premises.
Their existing ePOS System uses ICR TouchPoint Software with Bar Code Scanners and was installed and managed by Astec POS Monaghan. Asking Astec to upgrade their existing ePOS System in line with the business’s requirement to manage the business both on and off the premises was the perfect solution.

Reports are tailored to view how products are selling, to change prices, and plan re-ordering of stock.
