John Mc Nally’s Bar and Lounge is one the longest serving Bars and Lounge in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. Established in 1955 by the late John and Susan Mc Nally this friendly bar is now  owned and managed by Noel and Ann Mc Nally.

The current premises is the amalgamation of 2, the first one which John rented and later bought when he first came to Carrickmacross with Susan and a second one, then called the Oriel Bar at the corner of Main Street and Church Street which was bought by John in 1966. Both Bars were consolidated into what is now known as J.J. Mc Nallys or Nallo’s.

John’s interest in sport is well known and in 2008 when Carrick Emmets won the Owen Ward Cup Senior County Football League for the first time John had the immence pleasure of knowing that his 3 grandsons John Mark and Owen were playing  that day on the team, making the victory even more significant for him.

Noel and Anne continue in the tradition of supporting local sports and events and have on staff,  Barman Aaron Jones , a member of the Carrick Emmet Football Squad.

Rubix Band, The Great Pretenders and the Fuzzy Burgers provide music and entertainment at the numerous social nights hosted in Nallo’s.
